The children are preparing traps for Lenny the Leprechaun at our school…
I haven’t ever tried this myself so it was interesting listening to the teachers tell the children about how Lenny the Leprechaun is a trouble maker and causes big messes wherever he goes…
To catch Lenny the Leprechaun, the children have been creating Lenny the Leprechaun traps out of different sized boxes…
The traps need to be green because Lenny likes the color green best…
And for a little bait – the children added some Lucky Charms that lead to a pot of gold…
With all of this hard work, Lenny the Leprechaun is sure to be caught on St. Patrick’s Day but who knows what kinds of trouble he will cause between now and then!
Here are some ideas for making St. Patrick’s day fun…

My 6 year old loves to leave notes and treats inside his trap (hotel). on st. patty’s day he usually finds that little green guy has a left a nice two dollar tip.
Wow – that is my kind of little green guy:) How fun and generous!
I like your leprechaun idea! In our class we make leprechaun finders (like magnifying glasses) and leprechaun hats (made from inverted plastic green bowls and glitter, which have been hole punched and elastic put through to hold the hat in place) Ahead of time I take plastic gold coins and trail them (with tape and announcing to the building they are not to be picked up!) all over the building on the floor for the kiddos to follow. At the end of the trail is a cauldron filled with all kinds of green and gold things donated by parents. Taped… Read more »
