One of my absolute favorite teaching tools is the flannel board (also called a felt board). I have a variety of different sized flannel boards that I use for all kinds of activities including story telling, counting, graphing, and the list goes on.
Some of my flannel boards are small and used as lap boards while others are larger and used as the more typical story telling board.
