Some ideas take a little tweaking like this DIY paint stand

Once I get on a roll with something, I tend to get carried away and my latest obsession is building DIY stands for use around the classroom out of PVC pipes. However, some ideas take a little tweaking like this DIY paint stand.

We have been spending time talking about opposites which sparked the idea of creating a painting process that explored the concept of back and forth. I wanted it to be a cool process so I made this PVC stand and painted it.

The first day, I added paint brushes and watered down paint. Although the children found the process interesting, it really didn’t paint or drip all that well.

Not to be deterred, I switched out the brushes to water paint pens and made the strings a little bit longer. This worked much better…

Of course, I can use my DIY stand for other types of activities – I am just trying to figure out what they might be! If you have any ideas for what else I could use my DIY stand for I would love for you to leave them in the comment section below…

This is so neat! What about attaching different shaped objects to the strings to see what shapes or smears they create on the paper? You could also place a mirror under the PVC pipe in a discussion about reflection.

Are those paint brush pens refillable? Or do you need to just buy new ones when they run out?

    They run out!
