Continuing with our interest in listening, I set up the easel for my students to enjoy a little listening time as they painted at the easel…
I can’t express to you how much my students enjoyed this experience. Many of the children spent a long time at the easel just listening and painting…
Some of my students spent the time just listening…
While some of my students listened and painted, others might stop by and paint with them. Â You see, the focus of the children was to just enjoy the experience of painting as they listened so when someone else joined in, the children didn’t mind as they were not focused on painting a specific picture – just painting and listening…
To set up the music at the easel, I plugged the headphones into my IPhone and placed the iphone in a baggie. I pressed the play button and let the music go through the list and start again…
Every child who painted took their time and some would begin singing out loud…
And some would dance along to the words or beat of the songs. Â I tried to pick both slow and fast moving songs…
Everyone who stopped by and gave the easel a try enjoyed this wonderful musical easel painting experience…
And this little guy enjoyed it so much that he decided to do the actions to one of the songs while he went all around the classroom…
