Today we explored hibernating bears…
After reading the book “Good Night, Baby Bear” by Frank Asch, my students enjoyed crawling through the bear cave…
We covered a couple of child-sized tables with blankets to turn them into bear caves. Â We played a game at first. When I shouted “it is Spring Time!” the bears went through the cave. Â When I shouted “it is Winter Time!”, all the bears went into the cave to hibernate (sleep)…
The bears particularly liked to snore while they slept…
The children played in the caves most of the afternoon. Â While I read the book, the children took turns holding my teddy bears…
And we sang and danced to a teddy bear action song…
And a few of our children decided it would be more fun to use the ringer from our egg timers to wake up the bears…
It was a beary fun day!
