Have fun with button lights in preschool

I love those little surprises that come up along the way and this is one of those times where the best things come when the child leads the way!

While I was busy making my light table, Wy was busy playing with the button lights…

At first I wasn’t paying attention but then I realized that Wy had come up with a terrific way to explore lights/on/off on his own…

I took some photos with the lights on of his play and some with the lights off.  Wy preferred leaving the kitchen lights on while he played…

Wy also made a path with the lights. I am seeing lots more play ahead with these button lights so even if my light table doesn’t work out quite as planned – the button lights will definitely not go to waist!

Every time I think I know everything I need to know about teaching young children, God says, "Hold on a minute!" and gives me a new challenge.

Let me tell ya...

With each new challenge that you overcome, you will find yourself better equipped and more passionate about teaching young children.

God didn't call wimps to lead, teach, or care for His children. Nope, he has high expectations, so get ready. You will have to give your very best but after teaching for over 30 years, I can tell you that it is a wonderful and rewarding journey.

Whenever your calling feels hard, just remember, 'He who began a good work in you (and in the children you serve) will be faithful to complete it.'
