Itsy bitsy spider day in preschool

Today was itsy bitsy spider day in preschool! There were spiders on the floor, spiders on the tables, spiders in the centers – spiders everywhere!

You can also paint your own spiderwebs!

While the two year olds sang the “Itsy Bitsy Spider” song, they made the paper spider climb up the water spout (paper towel tube).

Then they played with the spiders on the spiderweb taped to the floor!

The children marbled painted spider webs on black construction paper…

Then made black spiders with their handprints…

A few silly spiders with eight legs were made by our Kindergarten children…

And a little spider web sensory play…

Thank you to Strong Start for their spiderweb on the floor and to Mother Huddle for the handprint spider and to House of Baby Piranha for the spider web marble painting and to Gone Bananas for the paper cup spiders!

Every time I think I know everything I need to know about teaching young children, God says, "Hold on a minute!" and gives me a new challenge.

Let me tell ya...

With each new challenge that you overcome, you will find yourself better equipped and more passionate about teaching young children.

God didn't call wimps to lead, teach, or care for His children. Nope, he has high expectations, so get ready. You will have to give your very best but after teaching for over 30 years, I can tell you that it is a wonderful and rewarding journey.

Whenever your calling feels hard, just remember, 'He who began a good work in you (and in the children you serve) will be faithful to complete it.'
